"My husband and I were looking for a place to stay near the ferry for Friday Harbor, that offered two king-sized beds (traveling with my in-laws), and this property was one of the few that fit the bill. An added bonus was that the property was situated on the water, with access to the beach. I was also intrigued by the unique floorplan (we had half of the house entirely to ourselves, but there is also a common space with a library, an atrium, and an art studio). Derek and Yvette gave us the tour when we arrived. The kitchen was stocked with tea, coffee, juice, and everything you could need for a perfect morning beverage while sitting on the patio looking out over a lush garden above the water. The upstairs bathroom has a large tub (with windows that can open to the water as well) and is nicely stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a number of lotions and bath salts. The towels were large and fluffy, making for a spa-like feel once some candles were lit and bath drawn. Breakfast is included (this property is actually a fully-licensed bed and breakfast, which is not the norm for AirBnB), and was more than your average cold-cuts and from-concentrate juices. We had eggs, veggies, and potatoes, with a side cup of berries and yogurt. Everything was made that morning, taking into account dietary restrictions and allergies. Parking was easy, as was coming and going through your own private entrance. Internet was very reliable. The beds were very comfortable, and extra blankets were available if you needed them, or just wanted to sit outside in the crisp cool mornings/evenings. Overall, the experience felt very luxurious. An incredible value. We didn't end up taking part in the available art classes, but my mother-in-law did enjoy talking about art with Yvette, and we all enjoyed the artwork hung around the property. Next time we're headed up toward Anacortes, we'll be sure to see if Derek and Yvette have an opening."
