“You guys,... if you’re in Anacortes, stay here! This place is like a dream. The term “respite” doesn’t even begin to describe how easy it is to kick up your feet and recharge your batteries. Derek is super knowledgeable about the area, and Yvette is great to have conversations with over breakfast! Also her amazing artwork decorates every room in the house, and if you want, she’ll even give you painting lessons! Their hospitality is bar none, and of course it is. They’re certified bed and breakfast hosts! This isn’t your “typical Airbnb”. They’re there to make sure you have the most accommodating experience. It was my girlfriends first time at an Airbnb property and as much as she was glowing about the experience, I did remind her that not all of them are as great as Derek and Yvettes! When they say “steps to the beach” it’s true. But first you traverse down a winding path through a garden right out of a Lucy Montgomery story. The aromas from the various types of colorful flowers fills your senses as you wander closer towards the rocky beach. The beach is great! The tide pulls away to reveal a bountiful amount of fresh oysters (grab some!) and in the mornings you can sit on some driftwood and watch the hermit crabs scurry underfoot as you gaze across the cove looking out towards deception bay. I also saw my very first bald eagle! If you stay with them soon, you’ll see a mating pair just west of their home perched either in the nest majestically, or atop a curved tree scouting out food to hunt. I could spend days here, weeks even, alas, the journey carries us onward. However, we will DEFINITELY return! Maybe we’ll see you then! In the meantime, don’t miss out. Book this property!”
